The Institute of Leadership Development (ILD), set up in the year 1992, is a non-profit registered society promoted by the IFCI Ltd., a leading Financial Institution in India (A Govt. of India Undertaking). The Institute set up at Jaipur in the state of Rajasthan with the initial broad objective of developing an enlightened and motivated work force all over India through education, training, research, consultancy and counselling of workers & worker organisation.
The establishment of the Institute was in recognition of the fact that, alongside the management, the shop floor employees (Workers) have to be provided with opportunities and external facilities of training and development, as are available to others for meeting the challenges of change. In last two decades the Institute has emerged out as an integrated centre for teaching, learning, training and research in all areas across all sector of leadership development.
ILD is located in 33-acre state of the art facilities with built-up area of approx. 50,000 sq. ft. at Jamdoli on the outskirts of Jaipur. Modern accommodation and learning spaces at the Institute are designed to nurture interaction and camaraderie, extending the participants learning beyond the class rooms. Just a few minutes walk away, are the conference halls and libraries equipped with the technology and training aids necessary to support superior acoustics and active discussions among participants. The open and collaborative culture offers unrivalled opportunities for peer learning and networking.
ILD offers a uniquely stimulating environment and on-campus experience equipped with state-of-the art infrastructural facilities, the Institute is located in the city but distanced from the stress of urban lifestyle.
A dire need was felt within the ecosystem of skills in the Country to have a body that can provide accreditation, affiliation, evaluation and certification of the skill oriented programmes conducted by various Institutions/Organisations. In this regard ILD, IFCI Ltd and Rajasthan Government are the first to have realised it and have spearheaded towards the formation of a Skills University. With the enactment of the Rajasthan ILD Skills University Jaipur Act, 2017 (Act No. 6 of 2017) after the passage of the Bill in the State Legislative Assembly of Rajasthan on 7th March, 2017, the Rajasthan ILD Skills University (RISU) has become the first Skills University in the Public Sector in the Country. ILD is therefore, contributing immensely towards the skill training and making the unemployed youth of the State/Country employable.
